Golf Clubs

Golf clubs are the single most important piece of equipment you'll need to play. Your clubs have the most ability to actually effect your score - directly. We'll take you through all the information you need to figure out which clubs work, how they work, and why they work for some people...and not others.

From Scratch

I've played them all. I may not have owned every set there is to own, but I've played a lot of them. I must admit, I am a Ping guy. This is the single best golf club maker there is in my opinion. Their club design, technology, and quality cannot be matched in the industry. What's more is that their customer service is borderline ridiculous in how good it is. If you ever have to call Ping for any reason, you can bet that they'll take care of you. You're in good hands. We'll go through more than just Ping equipment - for example, I just tested the Titleist 907 D2 driver. Some golf club! We've tested golf clubs from all kinds of manufacturers and brands. Some are great. Some are aweful.

From Hack

I've played a bunch of different clubs too. The thing is, I am not good enough to relly know if I am hitting a crappy shot, or the club is just a crappy club. Either way, I can still tell you how it felt and what did seem to work for me (I mean, I'm not THAT bad).

I recently tried some Ping G10 irons on the driving range. Okay - definitely a super easy club to hit. But here's the thing...I tried an over-sized grip. You would not believe what a 1/16" difference in grip diameter does! And the clubs - forget about it! You can't even tell you hit the ball. It just catches the ball effortlessly and sends it on it's way. Sweet.

We'll explore all kinds of clubs from lob wedges to drivers to belly putters. Not just specs, but how real golfers play with them. Specs are great, but unless you're Scratch (pun intended) does anybody really give a crap if their shaft is 57g or 58g? I don't!

We'll make sure you get opinions from across the board in this important section.
