College golf hats are very popular these days. You can get your favorite college football or basketball team on your hat and show your colors. This is kind of cross-sport pollination – since everyone who plays golf needs a good hat, you might as well make it one that cheers for your favorite team while your at it!

Of course, since I live in Charlottesville, University of Virginia appears on a few of my favorite golf hats. But I have others too. Hack tends to go pure golf logo and stay away from the collegiate branding, but then again his alma mater doesn’t have much of any kind of a team. Though in hindsight, I think the George Mason University basketball team got lucky a couple years ago. But come on…they don’t have a football program for goodness sake!

Some of the most popular include Florida State and Gators hats. The New Era brand is a good one to look at – very high quality and nice embroidery. Funny thing is that you can find a baseball cap with a golf logo on the front and a college team on the side – now you’re stylin!

Bottom line is that you’ll need something to cover your scalp, especially in the warmer summer months. Go for something that doesn’t make your head look too fat. That means, if you’re a uhhh, bigger fellow, like me – you may want to opt for a visor because they don’t tend to make the rest of your head look so big. Just stay away from the goofy farmers hats and you’ll be good to go. My go-to place for college golf hats is hats.com – check them out!
